For the 2025 skydiving season, Skydive Oregon will be focusing our operations exclusively on tandem skydives and will not be offering an AFF/A-License program. However, we want to ensure that anyone interested in pursuing their skydiving license has the right tools to get started.
A second tandem skydive is a great way to learn more from your professional tandem instructor. Your instructor can equip you with an altimeter, teach you how to deploy the parachute and help you learn more about canopy control during the parachute flight.
Becoming a licensed skydiver is an exciting and rewarding journey, and we encourage you to explore the following resources to learn more about the process:
United States Parachute Association (USPA)
The USPA is the primary governing body for skydiving in the U.S. and offers an abundance of information for those looking to get licensed. Their website (uspa.org) outlines everything from licensing requirements to training recommendations.

Skydiving Safety and Training Resources:
As you progress in your training, it's essential to understand skydiving safety protocols, equipment, and best practices. The USPA offers comprehensive materials to guide you through your entire skydiving journey, from your first jump to your license.
A tandem skydive is still the best place to begin your skydiving journey. If you’re curious about what it feels like to freefall from 14,500 feet or even 18,000 ft, a tandem jump is the perfect introduction, in fact, many of our guests enjoy their tandem experience so much that they come back several times a season or choose to make a skydive annually.
Tandem skydiving allows you to experience the thrill of freefall while being securely harnessed to one of our experienced instructors. It’s the most fun way to begin learning about the sport as you consider whether to make the commitment to pursue your skydiving license in the future.
