Day of Jump Questions

What do I wear?

Please wear clothing that is comfortable and weather appropriate for your skydive. We recommend something flexible/athletic, however jeans are perfectly fine. On cooler spring or fall days, we suggest bringing a sweatshirt or jacket and a pair of gloves. We will provide jumpsuits as needed. On warmer summer days, you are welcome to wear shorts and a t-shirt. Please do not wear a tank top on your skydive - it will not be comfortable under the harness and will not be acceptable for hygiene reasons.

Wear sneakers or some kind of snug fitting athletic shoe. No hiking boots, sandals or any type of shoe with open toes, hooks or heels.

What kind of ID do I need?

You will need your driver's license or some other form of valid government issued photo ID. A state ID or passport will work great. Please note, you will not be able to skydive without a valid ID - school or work ID's or social security cards are not sufficient.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay with cash, credit or debit cards. We accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We do not accept American Express or checks.

I wear glasses or contacts - is this a problem?

We have goggles that fit over most regular sized glasses. Please bring a retainer strap and if possible, wear your smallest profile glasses for the best fit. For contact wearers, please let your instructor know you have contacts so that they can assist you in making sure the goggles are very snug.

I have long hair - what should I do?

Please bring a hair band so you can fasten your hair into a low pony tail or braid. You also have the option to wear a helmet if you would prefer.

I would like to freefall longer, is that possible?

Yes! When conditions allow, we offer 18,000′ Tandem Freefall Skydives, so you can freefall longer. Oxygen and additional training are required. High altitude jumps are $309 cc/atm or $299 cash. Please call for additional details and availability.

What if the weather forecast is bad?

Neither we, nor the weatherman, are 100% accurate at predicting the weather here in the NW. We do not cancel jumps based on the forecast – all weather decisions are made on the day of the jump. We do not jump in the rain or through the clouds, but lots of partly cloudy / partly sunny days are especially great for skydiving, but those days can require long waits, so patience is involved. If you have a question on weather, you can call shortly before you head out for your scheduled time and we’ll let you know the status of the day. All weather decisions are made on the day of the jump, throughout the day – rescheduling or refunds of deposits will be handled on that day.

What kind of weather could cancel jumping?

We do not jump in the rain or through the clouds. We do jump on many partly cloudy / partly sunny days. The clouds need to be high enough above us (higher than the top of Mt. Hood) or broken enough around us (lots of one or two mile sized big blue holes) and then we can skydive.

When should I call to find out about a weather decision?

If it is sunny and nice, there is no reason to call on the day of your jump. If it is raining or if the skies are overcast or extremely cloudy, we recommend giving a call just before you need to leave your house to make your reserved check-in time. Weather is very changeable in the Northwest, so the closer you can call to your check-in time, the better we can estimate conditions. Office opening hours can be found on the Hours & Location page of this site.

What time will I jump, so my friends can watch?

If you are making a Tandem Freefall Skydive, we suggest you plan 3 – 4 hours for weekday jumps and 4 – 5 hours for weekend jumps. The first hour of your day is used for check-in, paperwork and training, so if your friends want to show up a bit later, that is okay. Once each class is checked in and trained, then we start assigning groups to aircraft loads. Classes have 1 – 20 people and are comprised of various groups and individual students, so there will likely be more than one airplane flight and not everyone will be on the first load. Jumping usually begins between 1 and 4 hours after your scheduled check-in time.

Special note, the times listed above are only estimates, things can go much faster or a little slower, due to weather, equipment or instructor availability, aircraft or special requests. Please let all spectator friends know that it can be a long wait for non-jumpers, particularly on busy weekend days or when weather is an issue. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Can my non-jumping friends ride along in the plane to watch?

Since it is a skydiving aircraft, with a large, open door, only the people who are skydiving are allowed onboard.

Can my friends sit through class with me?

That is not possible. Due to regulations & space limitations, only student jumpers are allowed in the training facility. We do however, have a nice spectator picnic area with tables where they can wait for you. Please note – Alcohol is not allowed.

May I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, no. We love dogs too, but for many reasons dogs are not allowed on the airport or in the spectator area at any time. There is no shady place to keep them in a car or walk them to do their “business”. Please remind your spectator friends so they can plan to leave their pets at home where they will be more comfortable, especially on warm summer days.

I would like to keep a record of my jumps. How can I do that?

We have student and experienced jumper logbooks that can be purchased at the manifest counter. Student logbooks are available for $5 and you can ask your instructor to fill in the details and sign it for you.

Do you have goggles that I can buy and keep?

Yes, there are goggles that can be purchased at the manifest counter that you can wear on your skydive and take home with you. Prices vary depending upon the style, starting at $15.

Can we have a picnic?

Yes. We have a dedicated picnic / viewing area for you and your family and friends on a first come, first served basis. It is located perfectly for viewing the whole show, from aircraft boarding to parachutes landing. You are welcome to bring a picnic or snacks. Alcohol is not allowed on the airport while skydiving. There are benches and picnic tables available, however you are welcome to bring your own folding or padded chairs for extra seating comfort. Please note, there are no dogs allowed on the airport and all children must be with a parent or guardian at all times.

Can we have a BBQ?

Yes. We do allow small, gas grills. No charcoal or other types of fires allowed.

Is it ok to have an alcoholic drink before skydiving?

No. Additionally, please let everyone in your party know that alcohol is not allowed on the airport during skydiving operations.

Is there a children's play area?

Children are welcome in the spectator area with their parent or guardian. There are no playground or open play areas at the airport, so we do suggest bringing board games, books, computer or other quiet toys to keep them occupied while they are waiting and watching with their family. Please note, all children are required to be with a parent or guardian at all times. Unruly children will be asked to leave for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all.

What are your COVID-19 procedures?

We take Covid-19 precautions very seriously and ask for your cooperation and assistance in working with the procedures. Given the fast-changing situation and government regulations, we and our staff appreciate your patience and flexibility. We will conform to the Governor's orders regarding face masks and social distancing. At this time, face masks are optional inside the building. Please do not show up if you have a temperature or other known symptoms.

Age/Physical Requirements & Reservations Questions

Can my friends be with me on the same airplane? – Yes!

Groups of four to seven tandem students can usually be accommodated on the same airplane, depending upon the number of video requests, instructor availability and conditions of the day. Larger groups may be on separate aircraft, in that case, the group organizer will be asked to assist in choosing the individuals per aircraft.

Do I have to make a reservation to go skydiving?

Reservations are not required, however, they are highly recommended. If you have a special day in mind or you don’t want to risk a possible wait or disappointment, we suggest making a reservation. For groups who want to receive the group discount, reservations and deposit are required. Add-on groups are easily accommodated, so tell your friends the date and time of your jump and they can call in to join with a separate deposit. This makes it easy to build your group for the group discount. And, for the solo class it is necessary to reserve in advance so we can get you your training materials and test.

How far in advance should we book?

We suggest you give us a call or you can make a reservation on-line when you are thinking about it, even if it’s the same day! The best example we can give you is that of a popular restaurant – the night you just show up with 6 of your friends, you can’t get a table because everyone else is already there – the next night, you are able to just walk-in.

The same thing can happen with skydiving, so if you have a special day in mind – call early for best availability. If you are reading this and thinking I want to skydive today –– give us a call and we just might be able to make that happen, too!
We do take walk-ins for tandem skydives, on a space and instructor available basis. We can often fit people into one of the many tandem skydiving classes we offer each day – we do suggest making a call before driving out to check on last minute availability.

How do I make a reservation – and what if I need to change or cancel the reservation?

Reservations can be made over the phone or on-line with a $50 per person advance deposit at the time of the reservation. The deposit will apply to the jump price on the day of the jump and it does become non-changeable, non-cancellable, non-refundable 7 days in advance of the scheduled jump date. You will still qualify for the cash discounted jump price by paying your balance in cash on the day of the jump.

Changes, cancellations or adjustments to the reservation can be made as follows – additional people can be added at any time with an additional deposit, as long as there is still space in the class. Cancellations or changes to the date or time must be made no later than 7* days in advance. *Please note in July and August deposits for groups of six or more are non-changeable, non-cancellable and non-refundable at the time of reservation. Video requests will be accepted at any time, based upon availability.

In the event that we cancel jumps due to weather, you will be offered the option to reschedule or request a refund for the deposit. All weather decisions are made on the jump day.

Is there an age requirement to skydive?

Everyone must be at least 18 years of age with a valid government issued photo ID to skydive, based on the equipment manufacturer’s requirements. There is no parental consent option for anyone under 18. There is no upper age limit, however, if you are over 70 years of age, please call us prior to booking.

I'm a little overweight, is that a problem?

Most people who have an active lifestyle can go skydiving. There is a weight limit of 230 lbs for men or 200 lbs for ladies, height / weight proportionate, in good shape for your size, to make a solo or tandem skydive. Weight limits are based on the equipment manufacturer’s guidelines for both student and instructor safety and comfort and the National Institute of Health’s BMI calculations. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding weight or other physical requirements. Please note, we can only answer general questions – all specific medical issues should be addressed with your personal physician.

I’m a bit out of shape or have physical limitations – can the instructor take the landing instead of me?

No, that is not possible. Both the student and the instructor will land together, so you must be physically fit and able to participate in the landing. It is an action sport, if you have specific concerns about the landing, we recommend visiting our facility on a nice day to watch the landings and ask questions in person – before you make a reservation to skydive.

I want to skydive with a group of my friends – what is the easiest way to organize and reserve so we can get the group discount?

The first step is to talk with your friends, pick some dates and start getting a head count. Once you have a date in mind and an idea of group size, call or check the online reservations for availability. Please note – everyone in the group must be at least 18 years of age, weigh 230 lbs or less for men and 200 lbs or less for ladies, and be in good shape, height / weight proportionate.

Reservations are held with a $50 deposit at the time of reservation. You as the group organizer can collect deposits and make a reservation for everyone or you can make a reservation for yourself and then have friends call in or reserve online using the Link that you will receive in your e-mail confirmation.

You can use a credit or debit card or cash for the $50 per person deposit. If you have additional people who want to join – you can always call to add more people, with an additional deposit, as long as there is still space available. Everyone who is reserved and deposited as part of a group of six or more will receive the group discount on the day of the jump. We do suggest that if you have “stragglers” don’t wait to book – it’s easier to add a few more people to an existing group reservation than it is to find a lot of spaces for a large group at the last minute.

Other hints in reserving and organizing your group – let us know in advance if anyone would like to have the photo/video option. Once you are reserved – share the e-mail confirmation with all the important details about time, place, what to wear, ID requirements etc. with everyone. Now it’s time to relax – your reservation is made and you are going to have a great time skydiving with your friends!

Discount Questions

Do you have group rates? – Yes!

Groups of six or more receive a $20 discount for each person when reserved and deposited as a group in advance! And you can also qualify for the cash discount, so the group rate for a tandem freewill skydive can be as low as $199 per person. We specialize in groups – we have large, fast, modern aircraft to take your group to jump altitude, and there is a great viewing area with picnic tables and shade structures where you and your friends can gather. To qualify for a group discount, the group must be reserved, as a group in advance. Group reservations for six or more for July and August weekends are locked in at the time or reservation. Groups of four to six tandem passengers can generally be accommodated per aircraft load, larger groups may require multiple aircraft loads. Please note – alcohol is not allowed. Please leave all pets at home, there are no places to walk them or keep them in the shade and dogs are not allowed in the spectator area.

If we make a reservation with a credit card, can we still get the cash discount? – Yes! Tell your friends, book a group of six or more and you get both the cash discount and the group rate.

Reservations are made with a $50 per person deposit at the time of reservation. The deposit is applied to the jump price on the day of the jump. When you show up, you can pay the rest with cash and you will still get the cash discounted price for your skydive. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Bank Cards as well as cash payments. We do not accept American Express or checks.

What types of discounts are available?

We offer group discounts for groups of six or more people making a Tandem Freefall Skydive. We also offer cash discounts on Tandem Skydives, Photo/Video Packages, and on all continuing student training in the Accelerated Freefall and Coaching programs. You can qualify for both the group and the cash discounted rate so your group of six or more can jump for $199 per person. We also offer a return discount-if you had a great time on your skydive and come back to jump again within 60 days, you will save $20 off of the regular price. We recognize that birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and wedding proposals are all very special, and we appreciate the services of our active and retired police, fire and military, however, we are not able to offer further discounts beyond the currently published discount rates.

Skydive Photo & Video Questions

Can I get pictures of my skydive?

YES! Digital photos are part of the Photo/Video Package that is available for an additional charge. To learn more, check out the First Timers Page on this site. Please request the Photo/Video package when reserving your skydive.

Should I give advance notice if I want my skydive on video?

Yes! The more advance notice the better.

What type of video can I expect?

The easy availability of video and photo editing software and the demand from customers have led us to the decision to provide the Raw HD unedited video footage directly to you. It will be e-mailed within 24 hours of your jump. This will enable you to view the footage on your computer and customize your video and pictures however you choose. You can add any music, titles or special effects that you would like. Copyright laws prevent us from adding many popular songs to your video and selling it to you, but there are no laws preventing you from adding it yourself.

Footage will include a short pre-jump introduction, a few clips taken inside the aircraft and the freefall skydive of you. Additional shots of parachute flight, landings and other images will be provided when possible, but are not guaranteed due to the challenges involved with filming skydiving.

What kind of still photos can I expect?

With the purchase of the Photo / Video Package you will receive 100+ digital photos of you on your skydive. Your pictures may include shots of you on the ground, in the airplane, during freefall, under the parachute and after landing. If you are with a group, please let your instructor know so that they can try and include your friends in a few shots on the ground or in the plane. Due to the challenges of filming skydives, we can only guarantee the freefall portion of the jump. You will receive your digital photos along with your raw, unedited video footage via e-mail within 24 hours of your jump.

How long before I receive my pictures and video footage?

Generally within 24 hours of your jump and often sooner, you will receive an e-mail and text message with the digital photos of your experience as well as your HD Raw unedited video footage.

Can I take my own camera with me?

No. Personal Cameras of any kind, including Go Pros, and cell phones are not allowed with you on the aircraft for your and your instructors safety. You are too busy with your skydive to look after your cameras. It may very easily get lost or broken and we can not risk dropping it in freefall or under parachute. And the United States Parachute Association requires that you have a minimum of 200 skydives before skydiving with a camera.

Will the video be edited?

The continued advances and easy availability of video and photo editing software and the demand from customers have led us to the decision to provide everyone with the Raw HD unedited video footage. It will be provided to you as a series of video clips for the computer. This will enable you to customize your video and pictures however you choose. You can add any music, titles or special effects that you would like. Copyright laws prevent us from adding many popular songs to your video and selling it to you, but there are no laws preventing you from adding it yourself.

Can groups share a photo/video package?

That is not possible due to the fact that you and your friends will be exiting the airplane at different times and won't see each other in freefall. The instructor can try to capture your friends in a shot on the ground or in the plane, but in freefall and under parachute, it’s all about you! If you and your friend(s) both purchase video, you will each receive the raw HD footage, so you can later combine and edit a group video if you choose.

Can I hire an additional camera flyer to jump with me and my instructor?

Yes, we do have professional cameraflyers available who can jump with you and your instructor and wear two cameras on their helmet, an HD video camera and a still camera. They can only film one student and instructor in freefall, so it is not possible to share a cameraflyer. Availability is limited, so please ask when booking. Cameraflyer video and photos are $130 cash or $135 cc/atm.
